Chelmsford Beer & Cider Festival is happy to announce that Flying Iron Co Axe Throwing will be returning in 2024 to let you unleash your inner Viking, bond with friends, and forge unforgettable memories! It’s fun for all the family!

Sanctus was founded over 13 years ago by two people who remain Trustees of the charity to this date. Concerned by the seemingly growing numbers of homeless people on the streets, those in need of food and a warm day space and from their own personal experience of homelessness, Sanctus was borne.

For a number of years, Sanctus’ survival was down to private donor funding, this is still the case with Sanctus now looking for other ways to fund the growing needs of our service users.

Sanctus have a café located in Broomfield Road, Chelmsford, we offer a breakfast, hot & cold drinks, sandwiches, pastries and a nutritional freshly cooked meal prepared and served by our team of volunteers. The café is the first step towards helping those in need get back on their feet, once you come to Sanctus we will help and support you all the way through your journey to regaining a life you crave for.

Sanctus offer much more than just food, clothes and a friendly place to visit we have our hub. The Support Hub was established as a safe and non-judgemental space to provide assistance, advice, referrals and signposting both in-house and with specialist partner organisations. Our service users have a wide range of complex needs which often forms a barrier to them seeking help from external providers. The Hub consists of 3 experienced support workers who hold a twice daily drop in for anyone wishing to access further support for housing issues, benefits advice, applications and everything in between.

The above is essential to helping those that need it, we are always looking for opportunities to raise money, the chance to have our own food concession at The Chelmsford Beer festival supported by CAMRA is a huge step towards helping us feed those within our community.

Sanctus will be cooking at the festival fresh cooked authentic Malaysian/Chinese food, cooked by our Malaysian volunteers you will be able to sample some home-grown recipes:
Chicken, pork, vegetarian, noodles and rice dishes along with Pancake roll, chips & curry sauce.

Every meal we serve at the festival will help feed 3 people have a hot meal at our café.

Hopleaf have been providing high quality catering in Chelmsford for many years and are delighted to be back at the Beer Festival.

Our Burgers and Sausages are delicious and hand made in Galleywood by Milbury Butchers then barbecued over charcoal. Our famous Hot Chilli Relish, made by us to our own recipe, will be available.

We are renowned for our home-made restaurant style curries and will have a selection available throughout the festival. Madras and Korma are the favourite, served with rice or chips, others will be available add Bhaji & Samosa to make a real meal of it. Watch out for updates on our facebook page “hopleafcatering”

Riva Pizza, one of the UK top mobile pizza companies, is delighted to return to the Chelmsford Beer and Cider Festival. We will cook fresh pizza in one of our stone-baked pizza ovens and offer you a choice of Margherita, Funghi, Riva Salami, Napoli and Riva Special.

Fairfields Farm is an Essex-based crisps producer, with each pack made from potatoes grown at the farm and fried there too. Available in eight flavours, all gluten free.

We are The Vine Cellar, we specialise in importing wine directly from producers in the South of France and hope to bring some sunshine and definitely some great tasting wines including some sparkles this year. We and are looking forward to returning to the CAMRA Chelmsford Summer Beer and Cider Festival this year.

We have also expanded our Gin range so come and discover Gins from Essex, Hertfordshire and London paired with artisan tonics from our friends at Twelve Below.

We will also be serving a special range of Gin cocktails hand finished with fresh fruit garnishes.
